Surfboards On Parade Gala To Auction Off 22 Epic Artworks
The culmination of 2016 Surfboards on Parade will hit Paséa Hotel & Spa on Friday, October 7, in the long-awaited Night of a Million Waves Gala & Art Auction. Dropping in after nearly four months of exhibiting throughout Huntington Beach, all 22 surfboards will be auctioned off with the goal of raising money to eradicate skin cancer. Tickets run $135 and are available online through October 4.
Undoubtedly the stars of the evening, the epic quiver will be joined by the legendary shapers and acclaimed artists, who will share the stories behind their creative collaborations. Additional highlights of the not-to-miss affair include live music by Chika and Harriet as well as Cali Conscious; a tapas-style dinner and culinary experience featuring local flavors by Duke's, Ola Mexican Kitchen, Old Crow Smokehouse, Ways & Means Oyster House, Simmzy's, Lemonade, and Legends; local craft beer poured by Riip Beer Company; rum tasting by Papa's Pilar Rum; silent auction boasting items like two VIP tickets to the 2017 U.S. Open of Surfing, dinner at Duke's for 8, Legoland Adventure, and Golf Foursome at SeaCliff Country Club; live art auction; and more. It's all happening from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Huntington Beach, the second installment of the one-of-a-kind "surf art experience" raises funds for Orange Coast Memorial Foundation to support the fight against skin cancer—our nation's most common cancer. Proceeds will also help fund a universally accessible playground on the sand in Huntington Beach, a project spearheaded by Rotary, as well as the Huntington Beach Art Center and the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum.
Attending the gala helps support local artists, shapers, organizations, projects, and research to help prevent and end skin cancer. In 2014, we hit $100,000. In keeping with tradition of breaking records, let's crush it in round two, HB.
