Huntington Beach Then & Now: The Tree On Capistrano Lane

Huntington Beach Then & Now: The Tree On Capistrano Lane

THEN // As my good friend David Ross recalled when sharing this photo:

"We just arrived in Huntington Beach and everything was new in 1964—our house, the grass, and the eucalyptus tree just beginning to grow behind the gate area. This tree was memorable. Fully grown, it enshrouded our courtyard and shed its leaves and provided me with one of my first paying chores of raking. Throughout youth I recall looking up at this mighty tree in a storm and wondering if it would survive the blustery beating. It always came through."

NOW // Beautiful memories from a special person, whose family remains an endearing and enduring force in the city. Thank you, David. I know you've moved on from the house at 22112 Capistrano Lane, but you perfectly capture a memory.
