Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show—on the sand. BeachFront Cinema returns to Huntington State Beach this spring with its giant inflatable screen and an eclectic lineup of 11 flicks, from "The Wizard Of Oz" to "Bridesmaids" to a special dog-friendly "Turner & Hooch" viewing.

The beachside movie series takes place on select Saturdays and Sundays between lifeguard towers 13 and 14 (between Beach and Newland), kicking off on May 14 and wrapping on September 4. Gates open at 5 p.m., followed by live music around 6 p.m. and movie start around 8 p.m.

Tickets cost $15 for general seating or $49 for VIP. Season passes are available for $59 and $249, respectively. The VIP Package affords you a pair of front row seats and a plush two-person beanbag. A portion of all sales benefits the Huntington State Beach Junior Lifeguard Association. Organizers are hoping to work out a similar parking discount to last year, where carpools of four-plus paid $7.50.

A Costa Mesa-based event and marketing group run by Orange County natives, BeachFront Cinema has a few special goodies in store for its second season. "This year we have made a big emphasis on making BeachFront Cinema more about the event rather than just the movie," says organizer Steve Thacher. "Our vision is to provide a quality, memorable experience for all of our guests who join us this summer and hopefully for many summers to come."

Features include rotating independent gourmet food vendors; a Beach Bar pouring wine, craft beer, and cocktails; live music; and more. A curated pre-screening experience invites guests to enjoy bites, sips, entertainment, and HB's killer sunsets.

If you're like us, you're probably curious about post-event beach conditions. Says Thacher, "We do a clean sweep of the beach and surrounding area once the movie is complete. The beach is always left better than we found it."
