Pop-Up Shop: Saavy Naturals Shutters At Pacific City
Naked white walls, empty shelves, and a neighboring sign announcing an incoming Free People boutique. This is what we recently spotted when we walked past Saavy Naturals at Pacific City. Immediately seeking answers to our favorite soap shop's seemingly sudden shuttering, we inquired.
As it turns out, the "Shark Tank" duo at the helm shares in our surprise. Saavy tells us:
Along with several other shops, Saavy signed a short-term lease, granting both parties a unique retail freedom—one that's become quite popular and appealing in today's pop-up-friendly market.
A representative for Pacific City tells us:
Another pop-up shop, Chico Hats, may transition out of its space in the future, but we're told that the handful of other short-term tenants—KIN, Cherry Hills Market, The Nook, and The Wearhouse—plan to call Pacific City home.
Saavy sudsed up Pacific City with its all-natural (and edible) handcrafted bar soaps, luxurious bath bombs, and delectable body creams, and the darling duo behind them, Hugo and Debra Saavedra, will undoubtedly continue making the world a healthier, kinder, sweeter-smelling place. They are poised to open two new shops this spring/summer, one at the new Westfield Topanga Village and the other in sunny Neptune Beach, Florida.
Editor's note: This post has been updated to include new information on Saavy Naturals and existing Pacific City tenants.
