Huntington Beach Then & Now: The Golden Bear's Wyland Mural

Huntington Beach Then & Now: The Golden Bear's Wyland Mural

THEN // This weekend at Don the Beachcomber in Sunset Beach, many of us will be on hand for the big Golden Bear Reunion Concert. So let's take a look at a rare image of the storied old club. It's 1986, and the club has just closed for good. Here we see part of the parking lot and remnants of the mural, painted by a then-unknown muralist named Wyland.

NOW // Today, it's impossible to capture the exact angle, but this is the general view.
