Hyper-Lapse Video: A Day In Huntington Beach Through A Local's Eyes
How would you like to experience a day in Huntington Beach in less than two minutes? Thanks to native photographer Scott Herder, you can, and it's everything you'd imagine. A pierside sunrise, barreling waves, beach cruises, and a bustling Main Street.
A true wanderluster, Herder has been traveling the world with his girlfriend for the past two years, seeing the sights and recording them via camera and the couple's blog at boboandchichi.com. The self-taught photographer has especially been developing his time-lapse and hyper-lapse skills, and lucky for us, he chose his hometown as a place to both practice his craft and pay tribute.
Says Herder on the heels of an inspiring few months in Korea and Southeast Asia:
"When I came back to Huntington Beach I realized how much I love this beautiful city. I never realized how clear and blue the skies were, delicious all the food was and how perfect the weather is. (There are tons of gray skies and it snows in Seoul.) I made the video 'A Day in Huntington Beach' as a way to continue developing the Hyper-Lapse photography technique while at home. It takes quite a bit of planning and time to make these on the road, but since I grew up in Huntington Beach, it was a bit easier to have an idea of what I wanted to show."
We can't wait to see what he creates next, and in the meantime, we'll be following along with the adventures of Bobo and Chichi.
