Then // Heading east along Ocean Avenue (today called Pacific Coast Highway) toward downtown Huntington each is still an exhilarating drive. In the "Then" shot, however, taken in the 1930s, the smell of oil would have fought with the salty air (the beach is just off to the right). 

Now // Today, though some oil is still being brought up in the area, it's nothing like it was back then, when a forest of towers ran up and down the coast.
