Best Seasonal Craft Beers, Cocktails In Huntington Beach

Although we celebrate an endless summer in Huntington Beach, we still cheers to the changing seasons. Local craft breweries and watering holes are warming up the "cooler" months with pumpkin spiced this and apple-infused that. Here are a few libations we highly recommend you sip.

Fall calls for pumpkin beer, and that's exactly what Beach City Brewery is pouring this season. It's the only fall seasonal currently on tap, but keep your eyes on their Instagram page for new releases. Note that they're tapping a special Halloween cask during their spooky gathering on Thursday, October 15.

For fall, Four Sons is featuring Fall Harvest, a saison with yams, cranberries, pecans, and pumpkin spices, along with Zamboni Ride, a white IPA. Of course, there's always their aptly named chocolate coffee stout mainstay, Nightmare On Gothard St. Come the first week of November, they'll be pouring Up On The Rooftop, their holiday spiced Doppelbock. Celebrate Halloween at the brewery, and you'll sample special Halloween-themed beer releases.

You can always brew your own seasonal suds at this personal craft brewery, or try one of theirs, be it the Pumpkin Ale, Oktoberfest, or Vanilla Porter. Pair your poison with one of their chewy housemade pretzels.

Pair the perfect ocean view with BLK's Harvest Apple Martini, made with Stoli Gala Apple Vodka, St. Germain, fresh pressed apple juice, and cinnamon, then garnished with fresh apple slices. It's like apple pie in a glass.

We don't always drink Old Fashioneds, but when we do, it's at Johnny's Saloon. This season they're warming up imbibers with four of Bruno's Signature Cocktails: Johnny Sr. Old Fashioned (George Dickel No. 8 Tennessee Whisky, blend of bitters, blend of rough cut sugars, lemon and orange garnish), Southern Bella (Buffalo Trace Kentucky Bourbon, Tuaca Italian Liqueur, fresh-squeezed lemon juice, bitters), The Highlander (Jameson Irish Whiskey, fresh-squeezed lemon and lime juice, ginger ale), and The 'Merican Mule (veteran owned American Revolution Vodka, Bundaberg Ginger Beer, fresh-squeezed lime juice, "no fancy shmancy copper cup needed-'Merica!!!" Go on, now. Put some hair on that chest. They're also pouring Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA, a unique blend of American and Scottish hops. Stop by their pop-up Halloween costume shop while you're there.
