Maps: Surf City USA Marathon Routes, Road Closures, And Parking
Huntington Beach's pavement is ready for its annual pounding by the feet of some 21,000 international participants in the 2015 Surf City USA Marathon and Half Marathon. Kicking off at 6:25 a.m. for wheelchair start, 6:30 a.m. for the full, and 7:45 a.m. for the half on Sunday, February 1, the race begins at Huntington Street and Pacific Coast Highway in front of the Waterfront Beach Resort, then heads north, weaving its way through Huntington Central Park then returning to the shoreline to meet its finish line roughly 100 yards north of the start line. The event is expected to attract approximately 45,000 spectators. Here's what you need to know about race day.
Affected roads include PCH, Goldenwest, Edwards, Seapoint, Garfield, Talbert and Ellis. PCH will be closed from Beach Boulevard up to Warner Avenue from 1 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The following road closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Sunday:
- Goldenwest closed from Slater to Ellis
- Goldenwest closed from Orange to PCH
- S/B Edwards closed from Slater to Garfield
- N/B Edwards open with traffic delays
- S/B Seapoint closed Garfield to Palm
- N/B Seapoint closed at Summit
- Seapoint closed Palm to PCH
- Garfield closed from Edwards to Seapoint
- Talbert closed from Fieldbury to Edwards
- Ellis closed Quarterhorse to Edwards

Roughly 2,500 volunteers will be on hand for "California's Classic Oceanfront Marathon" to help support runners from 50 states and 19 countries. Surf bands will set the rhythm for the brave runners, who will have six hours to complete the course. A beer garden, sponsored by Michelob Ultra, awaits participants of age at the finish line.
For the 10th year in a row, the race will help raise funds for Free Wheelchair Mission, an Irvine-based international nonprofit that provides wheelchairs for the impoverished disabled in developing countries.
