Huntington Beach Then & Now: The Golden Bear, Circa 1930

Huntington Beach Then & Now: The Golden Bear, Circa 1930

Then // In honor of the recent plaque dedication, the famed Golden Bear Café. It opened in 1929 at what is today 306 Pacific Coast Highway. It can be seen here at the left of the "Then" photo (circa early 1930s) near the intersection of Main Street and Ocean. To the upper right of the photo you can also see a bit of the metal archway that used to greet visitors in the 1930s.

Now // The Golden Bear was razed in the mid 1980s. And today, as you may know, it looks like this.
