Experience 50 Local Artists At The 2014 HB Downtown Art Walk Invitational Showcase
From March through October, downtown Huntington Beach is alive with the sights and sounds of art every third Thursday, courtesy of the HB Downtown Art Walk. Come the tail end of November, all eight nights will culminate during one night spotlighting the year's best participating local artists. The 2014 HB Downtown Art Walk Invitational Showcase will once again fill the Shorebreak Hotel ballroom this Thursday, November 20, from 7-10 p.m. We're ready to be inspired. Are you?
Roughly 150 artists displayed their work on the sidewalks and inside local businesses along and around Main Street this year, and on Thursday, 50 of the top creatives will unite and present their best pieces under one roof. Free and open to the public, the event not only offers art for sale, but live music, a silent auction and opportunity drawing featuring donated art, and of course, libations. MO DJ, Huntington Beach Music Collective (HBMC), and roaming saxophone player Michael Belk will provide the sounds for the night.
Local photographer Michael Latham graces the streets with his surf and shore scenes at every Art Walk, and this Thursday he'll present something extra special. His "Prints For A Purpose" collection features roughly 15 signed and matted 8x10 prints, and a portion of the proceeds will buy Christmas presents for kids at Colette's Children's Home in HB. Each print costs $30. Latham's charity collection is also available for perusal and purchase in our online Main & PCH Marketplace.
